The Neon Audio Door Entry System
Specified for new-build developments and a favorite for existing scheme upgrades, Neon Audio Door Entry Systems are the simplest way to install new and upgrade any existing building’s security. Developed over decades for the social housing setting, but adaptable to any multi-dwelling environment, the entire range is the most versatile and installer-friendly door entry solution available today. It is unrivalled for suitability when using existing wiring infrastructure, delivering cost savings and reduced installation, whilst remaining highly competitive.
You may combine any of our door panel options with our robust audio handsets and modular control units to create a complete audio-only door entry solution. Whether you’re refurbishing a small block, managing a large estate, or building from scratch, our audio packages install quickly, work on existing cabling, and leave a seamless pathway to video upgrades if you need them later.

Robust and versatile design philosophy at the heart of every system
Every Neon audio installation uses the same modular control core that powers the entire range. Combining robust power supplies with line‑isolating distribution units that handle power, full two way speech, lock release operation, and door status, for each handset.
Each distribution ‘node’ serves up to eight flats, scales up to thousands of dwellings, and prevents faults in one unit from affecting any others.
For smaller blocks of flats, distribution boards are often conveniently combined into dedicated Neon “boxed exchanges”, but when things start to scale, with many flats over many levels, distribution boards may be separated out into dedicated secure cabinets to form distribution units.
These may be repeated and arranged separately to meet the most efficient installation configuration across larger schemes. They’re designed to be low energy and fault resistant with built in self test routines, with any system fault being stored and reported through the door panel to assist fault finding.

Intelligent ‘Anti‑Hog’ technology prevents the system being abused by a single user making back‑to‑back calls. This frees the system to other panels immediately after one call cycle, so no visitor ever has to wait beyond a single call-in-progress.
For customers, our audio systems translate to quick upgrades and minimal disruption: you can scale from a few flats to 2,040, and usually upgrade onto existing wiring.
Audio systems are a perfect fit with our retrofit ethos: if you later upgrade to video, just add our video upgrade kit to your existing panels and handsets, nothing goes to waste.
Functional, digital, low-rise, high-rise. What do these terms mean?
The door entry market often refers to many types of door entry system. However, at Neon, because our Digital system is so affordable, versatile, easy to install, and simple to use, it has become the most specified within our range. It is also suited to every type of installation that could ever need a door entry system. For these reasons we tend not to categorise our systems into the configuration or development size they’re to be installed into. We like to keep things simple, and because of Neon’s influence, thinking in terms of functional, digital, low-rise, and high-rise systems is quickly become a thing of the past.

As long as you know how many entrances you want to control and how many flats will need to communicate, we’ll work with you to decide your best door entry solution.

With Neon, it’s not complicated
For all this intelligence, flexibility, and deep in-the-background engineering complexity, configuring your Neon Chameleon Audio Door Entry System is as easy as 1-2-3. All you need to do is think on these 3 easy steps, and let us take care of the rest.
STEP 1: Define your access points
How many entrances will you control? Will you include pedestrian and vehicle access points, and even floors and landings?
STEP 2: Choose your Door Panel type(s)
Select one or more door panel types to start with, in combination to best suit every entrance you want to control. Choose your preferred user-interface, whether FUNCTIONAL or DIGITAL.
STEP 3: Choose resident Handsets
AUDIO only handsets make for a cost-effective and simple solution.
